Ophthalmology Lab at ESGCT 2025

We are thrilled to see our hosted Experimental Ophthalmology Lab presenting their latest research at #ESGCT2025, representing the University of Geneva Faculty of Medicine and HUG – Geneva University Hospitals.

The conference provides an inspiring environment to discuss advances in gene and cell therapy, particularly for ocular diseases such as age-related macular degeneration (AMD).

Key presentations include:

  • Poster P0392: hiPSC-derived RPE cells under oxidative stress conditions as a model for avascular AMD, presented by Dr Thais Bascuas Castillo.
  • Poster P1019: Towards efficient gene therapy to treat AMD: Assessment of therapeutic proteins in one month long RPE-retina co-culture, presented by Dr Priv.-Doz Martina Kropp.
  • Poster P1117: Whole Exome Sequencing Reveals Recurrent Germline Variants in Metabolic and Immune Pathways in Early-Onset Breast Cancer Patients from Pakistan, presented by Prof Salman Khan.

👏 Congratulations to all team members for their outstanding contributions and commitment to translational research. These efforts highlight Geneva as a leading hub for gene and cell therapy innovation.
