Breakthrough in Glioblastoma Research

We’re thrilled to announce that our team has been awarded a research grant from the Fondation Gustave et Simone Prévot to advance the development of innovative therapies for glioblastoma (GBM) — one of the most challenging brain cancers to treat.

This funding will support our investigation into how a transient opening of the blood-brain barrier (BBB) using Low-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (LiFUS) can enhance the delivery of CAR-T cells to the brain in GBM models. The goal: to improve treatment accessibility while reducing procedural invasiveness.

This highly collaborative project brings together experts across disciplines and institutions:

  • Dr Kelly Ceyzériat, CIBM Center for Biomedical Imaging – Preclinical Imaging Section, UNIGE / HUG
  • Prof Philippe Millet and Dr Laurene Abjean, Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, UNIGE / HUG
  • Prof Rareș Salomir, Department of Radiology and Medical Informatics, UNIGE / HUG
  • Prof Denis Migliorini, Department of Medicine, UNIGE / HUG, Agora Translational Cancer Research Center

We warmly thank the Fondation Gustave et Simone Prévot for supporting this vital research and enabling further progress toward innovative brain cancer treatments.

👉 Together, let’s continue pushing the boundaries of neuro-oncology research.
