Molecular imaging of the mitochondrial TSPO protein reveals glia-driven neuroinflammation in bipolar disorder (BD) and Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Our lab investigates TSPO and glial changes using molecular tools (RNA-seq, proteomics), in vivo imaging (SPECT/PET), and mouse models to uncover therapeutic targets and clarify TSPO’s aggravating role in BD and AD progression. Our studies are funded by the SNSF.
